A downloadable game

  Firing Shark is a vertical shoot'em up arcade video-game, very playable with nice colorful graphics.

Controlling the titular biplane, the player must fight endless waves of military enemies (enemy forces like tanks, battleships, airplanes and artillery) as the main objective while avoiding collision with their projectiles and other obstacles. The plane has a powerful bomb at its disposal that can clear the screen of enemies when fired, capable of obliterating any enemy caught within its blast radius. Shooting down colored waves of enemy planes formation spawn items like "S" power-up icon that add cannons to your weaponry, point bonus and extra life.

It is a J2ME Flying Shark 1987 arcade conversion (Java ME) reprogrammed game version, so you'll need a cell phone (Symbian or J2ME) to play it.

Tested on real hardware (Nokia): C3-00, E63, E71, E72, X2-01, 5310 XpressMusic.

Resolutions available: 320x240 and 240x320.

Install instructions

Unzip it to your cell phone's memory (via cable or bluetooth) and run the .jar file. Some phone models require .jar file installation.

Thanks for your kind words. This Flying Shark demo was written in 2012 to improve my Java skills, sorry i have no plan to finish all levels, game programming is hard and time consuming, maybe if i can get some help with graphics and/or coding, who knows?

It would also help me to know how you ran the game, emulator or real device.

I've installed it on my Nokia 301 Dual Sim and it run great! Too bad it was just a demo.

Also, I think I can help with the graphics (considering that the game's resolution is 240x320, so it shouldn't be too hard for me 'cause I'm kinda designer/pixel-artist myself, he-he), but the coding...sorry, not my cup of tea ^, ^

Thanks for the feedback. 240x320 is the exact same resolution of the arcade. My desire was to finish it, but this is a much bigger project. (4 phases left and the bomb power-up)

so...do you need a helping hand or do you want to walk this road alone?^^

J2ME is dead and I have no interest in finishing this project, sorry
